Most nights each of our family’s have dinner together. We do our best to make a time to be together and talk and listen about our days and our dreams and plans for the present and future. As the youngsters in the family we found that we learn more from sitting down to dinner with our parents and grandparents and listening to them talk about their lives than we do at most large family gatherings. As we’ve sat at our dinner table and shared or listened to the stories of the lives of our elders…and as we’ve shared our own stories with them, we’ve come to share a bond of knowledge, understanding and history regarding our family. Reflections Around the Dinner Table records memorable selections spanning eight years of family table-talk and discussions between and among four generations of an American family whose ages ranged from seven to 94 years.
